OLEAN, N.Y. – Poor second half shooting doomed the West Virginia University women’s basketball team as the Mountaineers fell to St. Bonaventure 68-63 at the Reilly Center in second round action of the postseason WNIT.

West Virginia (18-15) shot 63% from the field in the first half (17-27) led by senior Takisha Granberry’s 6-8 shooting including 5-6 from 3-point range. As a team, West Virginia shot a blistering 77.8% (7-9) from 3-point range in the first half and WVU led 42-28 at halftime.

But it was a completely different second half for West Virginia as the Mountaineers shot just 2-21 (9.5%) from the field and committed 14 turnovers. WVU was 17-21 from the free throw line in the second half that kept the Mountaineers in the game.

Granberry led all scorers with 22 points and 10 rebounds and set a new WVU single season record with 94 made 3-pointers on the season after making her five against the Bonnies. She breaks the previous mark of 92 set by Kate Bulger in 2004. Granberry also notched her fifth double-double of the season.

Sophomore Liz Repella added 15 points and seven rebounds while classmate Sarah Miles added 13 points on 5-7 shooting. Senior Ashley Powell closed her Mountaineer career with 11 assists and seven points.

Dana Mitchell led the Bonnies (22-10) with 18 points, 13 of which came in the second half.
